I'm so grateful you've taken the time to find out more about my business! I went full-time with my graphic design business (formerly Simple & Soulful) in March 2021 and it has been a beautiful adventure.
I've been able to work with so many amazing clients on lots of different projects, but my favourite thing to do is business branding. There is so much that goes into creating a brand that not only looks amazing but also elevates your business and makes it come to life.
I've had the honour of learning graphic design by volunteering for my local church. It has given me the space to fail forward, along with many other gracious clients who didn't care if I had a qualification or not.
I never imagined this would be my career, but I always knew I wanted to be a business owner and that I wanted to do something creative. From the first time I learned to use Photoshop, something came alive in me. I loved the limitless options of things you could create with just that one program. You can imagine the joy that also followed as I learned other Adobe programs!
One of my biggest aims is not to allow creativity to weigh me down but rather push me forward. I never want to be the "tortured artist" type because creating is a source of joy! Creativity has always given way to creativity for me. The more I flex that muscle, the more I can use it. And I really want to use it for good.
When I'm not creating, you'll find me doing puzzles, spending quality time with friends or re-watching my favourite TV shows.
My Business Values
Excellence.
I don't want to pollute the world with bad designs. I create designs I'm proud of and am excited to put my name to. I don't settle for "good enough" but I take the time to do things right the first time around.
Improvement.
I recognise that I don't know it all yet. I am intentional about getting better at my craft and I strive to learn and keep up-to-date as the industry grows and changes.
Problem-solving.
I don't give up easily. I take the time to think through alternatives and solutions before completely throwing out an idea. I'm a big fan of pushing the boundaries and creating outside-of-the-box, so problem-solving is a natural part of the process.
Communication.
I don't leave you in the dark. I communicate all the nitty-gritty details that you want and need to know. I would rather over-communicate than under-communicate. I understand that working with a graphic designer can be a new experience, so no question or concern is too small.
